Before I began personal training at The Fit Stop I was embarrassed about letting myself get so big, and felt I was in a spiral and I needed help getting out of it. I knew that going to the gym on my own was not going to get me the results I wanted.Since starting on my weight loss journey I’ve lost over 14kg, I feel fantastic..stronger, more confidence, and a new self belief that I can control my weight and lose more weight when I put my mind to it.
I recently went on a snowboarding trip and felt better than ever being so much fitter and lighter!

I’d been doing personal training sessions several times each week for years with a few different personal trainers before I came to The Fit Stop and I’d developed some bad habits, concentrating more on just getting out repetitions, instead of taking note of how my body was moving and the technique I was doing it with.

The Fit Stop trainers stopped all that. They talk with me about my health and wellbeing holistically, while making sure I maximise the benefits from each of my sessions.

Since training with these guys, I’ve learned so much about how my body works, and I’ve become much fitter and more agile, so I can hurtle into the next decade (as opposed to limping into it!)

I get the most out of my one-on-one sessions, but the SMALL-group sessions are a great way to maintain regular training, and the boys make me feel like my group sessions are almost one-on-one because they don’t let me get away with slacking off, even though there are six of us.

The boys foster a professional, friendly, caring attitude at the Fit Stop, which is just what I need.

“I have gained muscle and lost fat & inches…”

When I first started being trained by Katrina at the Fit Stop, one of my 3 month goals was to be able to do at least 5 ‘proper’ push ups…
Three weeks later I felt a little silly, as I was already able to do 10 in a row – after years of taking myself to the gym and never being able to do this! I could not believe this new found strength.

I initially decided to try personal training after a long bout of very little exercise and unhealthy eating. This combined with having a desk job which commanded long hours was enough to give me no muscle tone or strength whatsoever.

Although I went running a few times a week, I could not tone up. Now after a few months of training I am in the best shape I have ever been in my life (including when I trained to run a marathon!).

I have lost little to no weight on the scales and have learnt this doesn’t matter as I have gained muscle and lost fat & inches from waist, hips, thighs – whilst raising my butt & getting a booty – I can definitely say my glutes are activated!

I cannot thank Kat and the Fit Stop enough for giving me my new found strength and motivation. I have learned the importance of a balanced and healthy lifestyle, met loads of great people and genuinely enjoyed my whole experience so far. I definitely recommend it to everyone who has hit a fitness wall!

I started training with Ben at The Fit Stop 8 months ago and can honestly say I haven’t looked back once.

Prior to starting at The Fit Stop I was at a loss. I had tried different exercise programs, my own gym training, and tried some gym classes but none of them were the right fit, and in fact I found that I suffered injuries more frequently than not!

I was gaining weight, my energy levels had plummeted and my fitness was at an all-time low.

I was so nervous the first time I went to meet Ben. I really shouldn’t have been at all – he is fantastic! He immediately made me feel comfortable and started with the basics. 

Our training sessions have been lots of fun too. They change regularly, no two training days are the same but we are not just doing random exercises. We have a program that is individualized for me and my strengths and weaknesses and I am improving on everything each session.

The results I have seen are fabulous! I am stronger than I have ever been before. My technique has been completely corrected. I have not once suffered an injury. I can now run without feeling I am about to collapse after improving stability and strength in my hips.

I am losing weight and I can do proper push ups…I have never before been able to do push ups!

I look forward to my training days and am completely motivated. My energy levels have soared & I feel great. I truly would recommend The Fit Stop to anyone. It has been a thoroughly enjoyable experience and Ben has been such an excellent trainer.

Before starting with The Fit Stop I wanted to improve my general fitness, lose a little bit of body fat and improve strength. This gym is excellent for this.

I used to run regularly but I was always very tight, particularly in the hamstrings. I also lacked upper body strength and couldn’t do chin-ups.

Since starting training I have loosened up my body considerably. My squats are much stronger & lower and my deadlifts have a far better technique. My core strength is also massively improved. I am now able to lift much heavier weights as well as easily do chin ups and pull ups. I also eat a lot better and have a much clearer understanding of nutrition.

The Fit Stop has a great, positive atmosphere – I’ve never experienced negativity or other ‘competitive’ clients putting people down

They are very supportive of mixed age/ability/gender where everyone is catered for individually. Those who need support are helped and the trainers pay particular attention to safe technique. If you need to work a little harder the trainers always have a variation to push you. I have not injured myself in nearly 3 years of training due to the fact the trainers are constantly checking technique and correcting us. A really great place to train and couldn’t recommend highly enough.

I thought the body I was in was just the one I had to live with, I’ve always felt sluggish and tired and often craved junk food. That is until I joined the Fit Stop.
