About The Fit Stop
In the current fitness industry, there can be a big difference from one personal trainer to the other, in terms of education and experience. Your choice could literally be the difference between wasting your time & money, being shown completely incorrect training methodologies with incorrect & dangerous form…OR doing things correctly (& safely) which will lead to long term results and a healthy understanding of what it takes to reach your fitness goals.
You can rest assured our personal trainers are of the highest standard and are highly experienced and educated, we have worked with hundreds of St Kilda East residents over the last 10 years ranging from regular everyday people to professional athletes.
Its not hard to find someone to bark out random exercises and motivating quotes just to get you tired and sweaty, that’s not hard for anyone to do, and its not effective training for long term results. You shouldn’t be paying for a cheerleader… you need a professional personal trainer or a coach who knows what they are doing with your body (especially if you spend all day sitting at a desk and have to deal with poor posture, flexibility & mobility issues & niggling aches and pains)
Effective training is about matching the right exercises & movements for your body & goals, fixing up any weaknesses, imbalances or movement dysfunctions which are limiting your progress, avoiding exercises which are inappropriate for you (& likely to lead to injury), and learning how to train with correct technique for long term progress & results.
The Fit Stop, located at 240 Inkerman St, St Kilda East, is a personal training and group training facility where people come to get real fitness results.
We work with our clients either in private 1-on-1 sessions or in our small group personal training sessions.
We run multiple group personal training sessions every weekday morning and evening, as well as Saturday mornings.
Our trainers here at The Fit Stop specialise in helping regular everyday people get fit, strong & functional as they reach their weight loss and body composition goals.
Our aim is to provide a fun, energetic, non intimidating and friendly environment for people to train, whilst pushing our clients to get results and be the best they can be using only the most effective, proven training methods.
Here at The Fit Stop we’ll address both your training and nutrition to ensure you get results and we’ll provide support and accountability to keep you on the right track.
We recognise the need in the personal training industry for a QUALITY group personal training facility that has a focus on good form, correct training technique, movement quality & posture, and a sensible approach to long term health, fitness & weight loss.
We know that not everybody needs 1-on-1 private training to exercise effectively, a lot of people can’t afford it & it prices many people out of the help they need…
The fact is that once you’ve reached a basic level of competency with your fitness and training technique, many people get BETTER results when training as a part of a small group (as long as you have a good coach)
Of course we still believe there is a need for 1-on-1 training in certain circumstances, and we have plenty of clients who train this way if they:
- Are completely new to exercise or haven’t exercised in a very long tim
- Have individualised goals which are harder to accommodate for in a group,
- Have pre-existing injuries or restrictions
- They just prefer the 1-on-1 environment and attention, and feel they get more from this.
